Description
A wide variety of models from different manufacturers are available to meet the requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), known as “96SOLAS”.
They are furnished with standard equipment and additional features as the customer specifies, such as Deck Cradle, Hydrostatic Release, etc.
An exceptionally rugged construction supplied in glassreinforced plastic (GRP) containers.
There are two types of inflatable liferaft mainly used on board, Throwover type and DavitLaunching type.
- Throwover type can be launched manually or by securing the tow line to a strong point on deck and throwing the container overboard. When the tow line is pulled taut, an integral CO2 gas cylinder is activated which inflates the boarding step, buoyancy chambers and canopy support.
- Davit Launching type is obliged to use for either Port or Starboard side on Bulk Carriers since 2007, lowering down by davit and inflate manually by pulling the tow line.
Every liferaft shall be serviced at intervals not exceeding 12 months.
