From the issue of MLC2006, every ship has been required to examine and record the quality of drinking water. Check items are mainly referred to the guideline by WHO, specific directions for items and the frequency of the examination are depends upon discretion of each nation administration. Marine portable water test kit contains everything needed to monitor the drinking water onboard in compliance to WHO guidelines, ILO 178 (2009), MLC (Maritime Labour Convention, 2006) and IHR (International Health Regulations, 2005) requirements. Application ; One sample should be directly from the tank and one sample at the furthest point of the distribution system. The tank sample gives information about the quality of the water supply on board, while the bridge sample gives information about the quality of the water for the consumer. It is recommended that Microbial Load be monitored at representative taps. Monitoring should take place at each major servicing, in addition to regular spot checks while in service. Records of readings must be documented, and Documentation should be maintained for 12 months and should be available.
